Prototype for query formulation
نویسندگان
چکیده
As the final outcome of our work in the context of the Wisdom project, a prototype for query formulation has been developed in order to prove the validity of the M-FIRE framework [3, 5, 4], and the feasibility of our approach to knowledge representation and exploration. The prototype includes a client module (written in C#) and a server module (written in Java) which communicate through a state-based TCP connection. Many clients can connect to a single M-FIRE server and deliver requests to it. In a typical scenario, clients would ask for a representation of some part of the available knowledge, and the server would reply by returing semantically annotated XHTML pages (the M-FIRE framework can actually support other representation formats than XHTML); after rendering is completed, actions made by the user on such documents will trigger new requests, which are eventually translated into SPARQL queries; the results of the generated queries are processed by the M-FIRE server and translated into a new XHTML document, which is then sent back to the client for rendering. Private Key based query on encrypted data
Nowadays, users of information systems have inclination to use a central server to decrease data transferring and maintenance costs. Since such a system is not so trustworthy, users' data usually upkeeps encrypted. However, encryption is not a nostrum for security problems and cannot guarantee the data security. In other words, there are some techniques that can endanger security of encrypted d...
متن کاملVisual Query Formulation for Linked Open Data: The Norwegian Entity Registry Case
The cloud of Linked Open Data is steadily growing, yet it remains largely inaccessible to the general public, due to the technical barrier posed by the requirement to know a formal query language such as SPARQL. In this article, we present a new approach for visual query formulation toward arbitrary SPARQL endpoints, and we show a working prototype developed to improve the accessibility to Link...
متن کاملVideo Query Formulation
For developing advanced query formulation methods for general multimedia data, we describe the issues related to video data. We distinguish between the requirements for image retrieval and video retrieval by identifying queryable attributes unique to video data, namely audio, temporal structure, motion, and events. Our approach is based on visual query methods to describe predicates interactive...

OntoVQL: Ontology Visual Query Language Amineh Fadhil Applying visual techniques to access data has been a successful way of abstracting and simplifying the complexity of the operation to a user not versed in the technical domain. Visual querying systems have been developed to represent a database schema and to visually query its content. Similar effort has been done for visually representing t...
متن کاملQuery Formulation from High-Level Concepts for Relational Databases
A new query formulation system based on a semantic graph model is presented. The graph provides a semantic model for the data in the database with userde ned relationships. The query formulator allows users to specify their requests and constraints in highlevel concepts. The query candidates are formulated based on the user input by a graph search algorithm and ranked according to a probabilist...
